After interrogating them, they got leads on some of my stuff. Early this morning, he messaged me that they had found the laptop and were going to another house to try to find the iPad. Two hours later, they had it too!
The Santee sheriff were absolutely amazing Christmas Eve! From the dispatcher that took my call when my husband was holding a guy that was holding a punk that was breaking into our car. I was a mess having kids in the house. The dispatcher stayed on the phone even though I laid the phone down to check on my husband. The sheriff were all amazing. In a day were law enforcement are getting such a bad name I can't say enough good things about all of the sheriff the sheriff that were out that night!!!
Because it was over $950 worth of stuff, they'll get charged with felony grand theft!
Two weeks ago, my car was broken into in the driveway of my home in the middle of the night. They hit the lottery and got my laptop, iPad, camera and a credit card!
A couple days later, the detective connected with me for more info. I let him now they used the card at Wal-Mart. He was going to talk to then to see if he could get any video of them making the purchase.
We went through the motions of filing a police report which included giving them serial numbers to all the devices taken, credit card info and video surveillance. We had little expectation that anything would come from this.
I got a call last night that they got good video from Wal-Mart and were able to identify the suspects. They arrested one guy who was in court for unrelated charges. They found the other guy and arrested him later that night.
I recently heard my vehicle alarm for the first time ever. I went out to find the rear door ajar & our alert neighbor said after hearing the alarm he then heard running footsteps leaving the property. Although the tweakers didn't get into my vehicle, I thought I'd make a report anyway. Officer Faddis showed up promptly and after assessing the situation and having a friendly conversation with my husband & I- we're happy to conclude that we're appreciative for the Santee Sheriff's Dept.
I've had my car broken into before and other than a report being taken, nothing ever happened. I'm super impressed with how well they handled this case and am amazed that I got my stuff back.
